Low frequency tags operate at 134.2 KHz and 128 KHz for different applications. Used mainly for access control and animal tagging as, at these frequencies, the wavelength of the signal is rarely vulnerable to interference around high-water content objects or near metal surfaces. Tags can only be read one at a time with read ranges of up to 30 cm.
