lanunch of Frits van calker's blog post about the world of RFID

RFIDdirect launch ‘Frits’ Focus’- an occasional blog-post helping you understand the world of RFID.

Products, service and solutions – it’s what we do.

None of us like a know-it-all but here at @RFIDdirect, we often call upon our resident RFID expert – MD Frits van Calker ing. MBA. His many years of insider know-how and practical experience make an essential contribution to RFIDdirect’s international achievements – serving both larger enterprises, SME and micro businesses.

Frits is a great believer in all things logical and organised. He maintains that we all, in business, need to regularly spring clean or refresh our inventory practices and manufacturing processes to function at optimum. He says, it’s not just about asset ID, but more how we think about changing the way we actually deploy data collection tools. That is, to put it bluntly (as Frits – being Dutch – would!) those that just aren’t working well enough.

Smarter collection, collating and managing of digital data has become essential in the workplace for traceability and sustainability in supply chains.  One of RFIDdirect’s main aims is to future-support this increase in demand for automatic data collection.

What we recommend is quality not quantity.

It is very rare indeed for RFIDdirect to sell an RFID tag or reader without basic consultation; crossing our fingers and hoping it works is just not our style. We always say, ‘There is no one tool for the job’, but many. Knowing which one is the key to unlocking and creating worthwhile data and information. RFIDdirect has never been and will never have a ‘box-shifter’ approach – cheap and cheerful or quantity over quality is no part of RFIDdirect’s ethos. We work with reputable suppliers (25+ years) and all our products are RoHS and REACH certified – meeting global standards.

The right product – as part of your data capture solution is key to ROI – more than price alone

Getting the ‘right’ price can be a costly business.

It’s difficult to pinpoint an exact cost for RFID as there are so many factors which determine the price of individual products. Typically, with RFID labels and tags, the higher the volume the lower the price per unit. However, it’s far more important, for any business or enterprise, to analyse their process and application already in place, to see if there is a valid business case for an ROI. Quality products – within a well-structured data capture strategy – are the backbone of any solution in helping your business adopt smarter supply chain, manufacturing processes and inventory practices. Frits would never recommend any product on cost alone; he’s seen too many costly mistakes and disappointed customers!

Read all about it!

In this subsequent series of short blogs – Frits will attempt to de-mystify some of the myths about RFID technology. He’ll answer some of our customers’ more frequent questions , address common problems and focus on products that RFIDdirect believe deliver the quality, accuracy and reliability you expect.

We’re appreciative of a partner’s recent comment about Frits and RFIDdirect; it seems to endorse that we’re on the right track to offer the best service:

“I felt again assured after the call yesterday and appreciate having you alongside us. Your experience is valued and I like the way you focus and cut out the fluff, it’s exactly what we will need”.

Remember, you can chat online or telephone; we’re always available to offer support and service.
